We accompany the careers of those employees who wish to be promoted to a manager level at Steigenberger Hotel Group, and who prove to have the potential for such a position, through our own Pool for young executives.
After at least one year of employment within the corporation, employees can be proposed for the Employees-Pool by their respective board of directors. Beside precise professional objectives these employees should also possess unrestricted mobility and flexibility.
Irrespective of the Catalogue of Training Facilities two events are carried out each year which promote and support the qualification and suitability of the candidates for their desired, next level of promotion (Deputy Head of Department, Head of Department, Assistant to the Executive Director). This also occurs through the discussion and treatment of various subjects and topics from the sectors "employee management" and the "basics of economic business management".
Furthermore the participants are given the opportunity to receive information and advice for their own individual career planning through coaching interviews with the section heads. The intensive exchange of experience and information with other "kindred spirits" is also greatly appreciated by the participants.
Should you be interested, and in agreement with senior management, it is possible to work for a certain time in another of the company's businesses, e.g. as part of our Circle of Competence, in order to gather valuable new ideas and stimulus for his or her own work area or also to gain completely new impressions from other areas of work.
Special events are normally held every year for managers from all departments and divisions. These aim to supply information on current market trends, to discuss topical questions in the Group, and to provide an opportunity for colleagues to compare notes.
Twice a year the Human Resources Division organises a meeting for all trainees in their last year of training. Subjects treated at this two-day event include questions relating to examinations in the F&B and sales departments, plus individual career counselling for trainees by personnel managers from Group Head Office and from our hotels.
